John Bliss to Join CIS' Government Programs Consulting Team
John Bliss brings a wealth of Government Pricing and contract management experience to his role as CIS' Director of Government Programs.
- Philadelphia, PA-NJ (1888PressRelease) January 20, 2012 - Compliance Implementation Services (CIS), a leading life sciences consulting firm, today announced the appointment of John Bliss, a seasoned Government Pricing and contract management consultant, as Director of Government Programs. Mr. Bliss will provide consulting services and support for many of CIS clients' Government Programs participation.
"With over 20 years of experience in both the pharmaceutical and medical device industries, John brings the insight needed to successfully evaluate and ensure government and contracting compliance," said Amy VanDeCar, Senior Director, Commercial Compliance and Government Programs. "John's strong background in Medicaid and managed care, paired with system implementations and change management knowledge, will allow him to successfully understand clients' needs and apply customized business process and technology initiatives. The addition of John to our current GP team signifies CIS' continued commitment to hiring subject matter experts with true depth and breadth of knowledge and the desire to exceed client expectations."
Prior to joining CIS, Mr. Bliss was a contract manager responsible for Medicaid rebate compliance, including supplemental and SPAPs and more specifically, maintaining a Medicaid system with pricing and system enhancements, performing Government Pricing calculations and analyses, and monitoring proposed Health Care Reform initiatives. Mr. Bliss also held a senior contract coordinator role where he managed the rebate and dispute resolution process for several states. Mr. Bliss also has extensive pharmaceutical experience with roles as manager, managed care analysis and reporting where he was responsible for overseeing rebate claims processing. Additionally, Mr. Bliss implemented and integrated all requirements to comply with OBRA90 legislation as manager, Medicaid contract compliance.
Mr. Bliss received his MBA from Syracuse University and is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Bliss is a frequent presenter at industry conferences and will be a track moderator at a local Government Programs event from
March 14-16. He will be based in CIS' Media, PA office.
