Joe Thompson and The Comfortable Catastrophe, grand prize winners of WNYC's Battle of the Boroughs, will perform in an exclusive concert at WNYC's The Greene Space and NYC's famed Summerstage.

As the Ultimate Battle winner, JOE THOMPSON AND THE COMFORTABLE CATASTROPHE have been awarded the opportunity to perform an exclusive, full-length concert in The Greene Space, WNYC's street-level, multi-platform performance studio. On July 30th at 7pm, the Queens-based country band, fresh off the release of their new album Yankee Twang, will rock the audience - with the same energy that won them the grand prize - with catchy riffs and rock & roll twang. The evening will be kicked off by WQXR host and Battle of the Boroughs emcee Terrance McKnight, and will be presented as a live video webstream for fans everywhere to enjoy.
As the Battle Winner, JOE THOMPSON AND THE COMFORTABLE CATASTROPHE will also receive a professional photo shoot, an HD-DVD and CD of their Greene Space concert, and a coveted opening set at SummerStage, one of New York City's premier outdoor music festivals. On July 28th at 7pm, the band will open for Olu Dara at Queensbridge Park to help close out the festival's 25th season in their home borough.
