JIMS Celebrated Hindi Diwas With Enthusiasm
JIMS Vasant Kunj celebrated Hindi diwas on 14th September.
- (1888PressRelease) September 16, 2012 - To commemorate the day India adopted Hindi as its official language, JIMS, Vasant Kunj observed Hindi Diwas today with great fanaticism and enthusiasm.
To highlight the importance of Hindi as 'Matra Bhasha ' students conducted a poetry session attired in the costumes of poets of repute and recited their poetry. Apart from it, debates, impromptu speech and essay writing competition were carried out during the Hindi Diwas Samaro in which the students show-cased their talent and creative skills.
In the valedictory function, Dr Lakshmi Shankar Bajpayee, Station Director, AIR was the Chief Guest. Briefing on significance of Hindi Divas celebration, Dr bajpayee said Hindi Divas is observed on September 14 after the constituent assembly proclaimed Hindi as the national language in 1949. Describing Hindi as the culture identity and a symbol of love and unity for the people of India, he said using Hindi language was one's constitutional obligation and one's duty to learn and spread Hindi language in the country. He further said language was the centre where one can express their mind, thoughts and feelings and understand ones' feelings to communicate with the community.
The guest of honor later on distributed prizes among the winners and participants.
