The new War Flowers movie will premiere featuring the seasoned actress Christina Ricci.
- (1888PressRelease) May 30, 2013 - Los Angeles, CA - It was announced today that WAR FLOWERS the sixteenth film produced by Jimmy Lifton, has been completed and turned over for distribution.
Christina Ricci, (The Adams Family, Penelope, Monster) in the starring role, is radiant as a struggling mother in the Civil War who must endure major loss, while trying to survive food shortages and battles literally on her front yard.
Civil War Re-enactors played a prominent role in all of the battle scenes. Lifton wanted authenticity for these scenes and decided to cast actual Civil War Re-enactors. Over one hundred Civil War re-enactors, true to their calling, bivouacked with their horses, in the soybean fields of Salinas, MI for days in ninety degree plus heat, dressed in full Yankee /Union uniforms, giving the film's battle scenes an extremely realistic look. Horses, cannons and riveting stunts highlight the film.
Joining Christina Ricci in the film is Tom Berenger (Gettysburg, Inception) as a battle weary General. WAR FLOWERS was filmed on lush prime farmland and Civil War era single family houses. The stages for some of the produciton were located at the Lifton Institute for Media Skills (LIMS), one of the premiere film school facilities at that time. Jimmy Lifton, utilized the talents of graduates of the Lifton Institute, to great effect. These retrained auto and construction workers provided an extremely professional and efficacious production crew.
