(1888PressRelease) April 29, 2018 - This past weekend, Jigsaw Academy, hosted the graduation of the first batch of students from the Postgraduate Program in Data Science & Machine Learning (PGPDM).

The venue of the event was the Hilton embassy golf links, and in attendance were several dignitaries from the education space, as well as the analytics industry. Christopher Guymon, Interim Dean and Mary Morley Cohen, Associate Dean, were those visiting from the University of Chicago Graham School and conducted a live conference session with the students. Several enterprise leaders enlightened the target audience about the prevailing trends as well as well as the future of the Data Analytics, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence industry.

Day one of the event went off with the students highlighting their Capstone Projects, which showcased their learnings and experience from the course, and how these have been put into real-world data projects. In accordance to this, some interesting sessions were conducted by members of the analytics fraternity. Himanshu Misra and Lekha Bhojan from The Math Company spoke about the current trends in the analytics space, how to efficiently tell a story with data and how to circulate data science results in the business context. This was followed by an enlightening talk by Dr. Madalasa Venkataraman, the Chief Data Scientist at TEG Analytics, who highlighted the power of AI (Artificial Intelligence), and how it could transform and improve the analytics industry.

Day two of the event began with Johnson Pushpanathan, an industry veteran with more than 28 years of expertise, who walked the students through an interesting session that detailed the applications of Artificial Intelligence and Deep Learning in the real world. The event’s sessions concluded with an address from Dr. Angshuman Ghosh, the Lead Data Scientist at Target. His lecture was highly informative and important to the students. He spoke about identifying the best career path in analytics, and how to go about finding the right job.

The Postgraduate Program in Data Science and Machine Learning (PGPDM) is a highly specialized learning program for young professionals looking to make a career in Data Analytics.
