Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) March 05, 2009 - The Japanese Film Festival - LA is proud to announce "Creating Films for an International Audience", and welcomes special guest, famed Japanese J-horror director Kiyoshi Kurosawa. Admission to the symposium at 5pm Tuesday March 10th is free with RSVP. The event is presented at UCLA's Korn Convocation Hall and is co-hosted by JVTA/ UCLA-JABA.
The March 10th symposium launches a series of events surrounding the upcoming JFFLA produced Japan film festival opening April 10th in Los Angeles. Attendance at the film festival has skyrocketed a record setting 183% since it's first year and is a testament to the increasing interest in Japanese cinema. JFFLA hopes to elevate dialogue on diversity and collaboration between Japan and the U.S, and increase awareness of Japanese film beyond the popular Anime and J-horror genres.
