Jet Truck Launches Viewers into the World of Super Sonic Monster Trucks
New Television Series Rides on Massive Speed and Power of Jet Trucks - and The Fiery Passions That Drive Them at Speeds Approaching 400 Miles Per Hour.
- (1888PressRelease) April 25, 2014 - Los Angeles, CA - FourPoints Television Productions continues to build on its highly successful and unique television docuseries programming, announcing its latest project Jet Truck, which will begin shooting in July of this summer. Jet Truck is on track to cultivate both new and existing audiences as it immerses viewers into the dangerous and emotionally addictive world of nitro-powered monster trucks - and the wild people who drive them.
FourPoints hopes to attract new audiences, as well as enamour fans of its sister program, The Aviators, which has been on the air for more than five years and has reached an estimated 50 million viewers around the world. Jet Truck will feature the same stunning videography, rich storytelling and engaging action sequences that is featured in other FourPoints programming. The new series, which begins filming this summer, is slated for release during spring of 2015 and will be distributed by LA-based GRB Entertainment, producers of 'Intervention,' 'Untold Stories of the ER,' and 'Growing up Gotti.'
Jet Truck was spawned from another FourPoints television series called Air Boss, which followed the career of one of the world's top air show bosses. Jet Truck's lead character family, The Darnells, were the center of attention during a pair of Air Boss episodes, and from that point on, FourPoints' executive producer Anthony Nalli was sold.
"The Darnells were so dynamic, entertaining, wild and fun that I came up with the series story arcs right there on the spot," Nalli recalls. "We will use the finely honed experience we gained from Air Boss to get Jet Truck off the ground and into living rooms around the world within a matter of months, not years."
The first episode of Jet Truck follows the Darnell family on their trek to the Cayuga Motor Speedway for the Canadian Nitro Nationals, and then it's off to the King of the North Dragway. In between, the show will be brimming with antics from Jet Truck's cast of colorful and outspoken characters.
Nalli offers a peek into lead character and Jet Truck pilot Chris Darnell: "Chris is a hard ass, plain and simple - and I can personally relate to him. He is a perfectionist who just wants to see things done right. And when they are not, he's not happy." Chris' cohort and clumsy co-crew chief Wayne does his best to keep the boss happy as he waddles his way through a seemingly endless list of tasks - any of which could potentially mean the difference between life and death.
There is plenty of drama and character depth in the mix when you add Chris' feisty blond haired wife Brooke - who is all too aware that "My husband's life is in danger every day!" and Chris' tough as nails dad Neal - who shares Chris' passion and has built his own Jet Truck career trying to outrun some very fast airplanes.
When it is show time however, the personalities and drama are cast aside and it's all business. Suddenly Chris is at the helm of a monstrous big rig moving at speeds in excess of 350 miles per hour, powered by three afterburning jet engines generating around 48,000 horsepower. The size and speed of the Jet Truck is only part of the spectacle, since the mega machine also shoots fire from the jets - often amidst the night sky while rocketing along a road that is almost unseen.
