In October the boutique will celebrate its eighth birthday with fun festivities for kids and a book and toy drive. "Helping children develop a love for reading will help them in every area of their lives," says JennyBec's Founder Jenny Mullennix, who spent many hours reading to earn her law degree.

Throughout September, visitors of JennyBec's can register to win their favorite book from the store's expansive collection, with one winner being chosen daily. Mullennix shares these three tips to get children excited about reading:

To celebrate eight years in business, JennyBec's invites the community to join October's month-long birthday celebration by coming into the store to register to win a $500 toy shopping spree and to bring their gently used books and toys for donation to STAR Education, a non-profit organization that provides after school programming and community-based cultural enrichment projects to more than 500 schools, reaching over a million students and their families annually.
