    About Jeffrey M. Eilender
Jeffrey M. Eilender has practiced with Schlam Stone & Dolan LLP for over twenty years and has been a commercial litigator for over twenty- five years. Although he has litigated virtually every kind of business conflict, his practice focuses on “business divorce”—intra-corporate disputes over intellectual property, real estate and other assets, trade secrets, and disputes relating to business separations involving, for example, operating, shareholder, non-compete and severance agreements. Mr. Eilender also litigates real estate, contract and employment cases, and all manner of business torts. He has been lead counsel in successful trials and hearings in the Commercial Divisions of New York’s state courts, a variety of arbitral forums, and in other federal and state courts around the country. Although he practices before many tribunals, in recent years he has concentrated his practice in the New York Commercial Division and is active on its committees and in lecturing about its rules and practices.

About Schlam Stone & Dolan LLP
Schlam Stone & Dolan LLP is a preeminent boutique law firm located in Manhattan’s financial district. Its attorneys are seasoned litigators, transactional lawyers, and counsellors who have honed their skills at New York’s elite big firms and in public service, including many who have held leadership positions at U.S. Attorneys’ and District Attorneys’ offices. Representing its clients in major litigations is the bread and butter of Schlam Stone & Dolan’s civil litigation practice. These cases often involve hotly-contested fights to control or dissolve companies, protecting clients' valuable intellectual property or contractual rights, or disputes over valuable real estate. The firm litigates across the country, but its focus is on litigation and appeals in the state and federal courts located in New York City. The firm also performs internal investigations for clients, and represents clients in governmental investigations and criminal trials and appeals, including criminal tax matters. The firm’s corporate counseling and transactional practice complements its litigation and government investigations practices. Many of its matters involve corporate governance disputes in highly successful closely-held entities and family-owned businesses, where it is called upon to structure transactions and exercise its clients' rights in very short periods of time to maximize a client's negotiating leverage, save a business from financial catastrophe, or seize control of a business. The firm represents closely-held companies in a number of industries, handling all aspects of their business, including real estate, employment, regulatory compliance and investor relations issues, and identification of litigation risks and advises clients regarding business combinations and the purchase and sale of companies.

    Abstract
The Commercial Division of the New York's Supreme Court aims to provide businesses with an efficient, effective and just forum for resolving complicated business conflicts. To do this, the Commercial Division Rules are continuously being examined and evaluated, so that they may reflect the demands of commercial litigation in the modern-day context.

In the Fall of 2016, the Commercial Division announced a series of proposed changes to the Commercial Division Rules. Six of those proposals may go into effect this 2017. Although these proposals would not alter practice before the Commercial Division in the same manner that the 2014 and 2015 updates did, they may prove important for parties and counsel litigating or considering litigating in the forum.

This course offers an overview of the new and evolving features of the Commercial Division Rules. A panel of thought leaders and practitioners will provide the audience with a useful roadmap in litigating complex commercial cases in New York in light of these changes.

In this LIVE Webcast, the speakers will discuss:
-The Highlights of the Proposed Changes:
    -Hyperlink Requirements
    -Sealing of Court Records
    -Model Language for Forum Selection
    -Estimated Length of Trial
    -Consultation Regarding Expert Testimony
    -Temporary Restraining Order Requirements
    -Other Important Changes
-How These Changes Will Affect Your Practice
    -Best Compliance Practices
