About Hill, Farrer & Burrill LLP
Founded in 1923, Hill, Farrer & Burrill LLP boasts one of Southern California’s oldest and most preeminent eminent domain practices.
Throughout its century as a single-office, downtown Los Angeles firm, Hill Farrer has stood side-by-side with Southern California’s business and community leaders as Los Angeles expanded from regional hub into the sprawling metropolis it is today. Hill Farrer represented Howard Hughes and the condemnations for Marina del Rey, handled notable cases in the 1950s involving the condemnation for the Palmdale Airport and Walt Disney, and was involved in the famous rerouting of the 101 freeway through downtown to avoid the old Brew 102 property. From freeways and metro lines to hospitals and sports stadiums, Hill Farrer has been involved in all aspects of the expansion of Southern California, its practice closely tracking the history of the region itself.
Hill Farrer has since expanded into a full-service firm, adding practices in labor and employment, real estate, corporate transaction work, trust and estates, and general business litigation.
