Jeanerette, Louisiana Youth Taking Action
Jeanerette Youth have come together to form the Jeanerette Youth Beautification Committee which is youth envisioned, and youth engaged. The committee will hold it's first clean up event on January 18th, 2014.
- (1888PressRelease) January 06, 2014 - The Jeanerette YBC has scheduled their first day of service for Jan 18th at 8 am on Martin Luther King Dr.
The newly formed Jeanerette Youth Beautification Committee is already in action with their first service date scheduled for January 18th beginning at 8 am. All of Martin Luther King Drive in Jeanerette will be cleaned in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. and to beautify the Drive for the upcoming parade to be held on January 19th 2014.
Founded by Jeanerette High School Junior, Oscar Vargas, the Jeanerette YBC is comprised of Youth volunteers and will concentrate on cleaning and beautifying the city of Jeanerette.
"The Jeanerette YBC is youth envisioned, youth motivated and youth action", says Founder Oscar Vargas. "By motivating our Youth now, we make a change that will impact our city for generations to come."
Vargas has already received the support of the Jeanerette Chamber of Commerce, the 4-H Club, the City of Jeanerette, and more. Volunteers have been signing up daily with 29 youth already enlisted for the January 18th clean up service on Martin Luther King Drive.
The Committee is funded via donations from private citizens, foundations, and businesses in the Iberia Parish area and operates as a non profit.
