JDG Entertainment Observes Mental Health Awareness Month With The Release Of The Sound Of The Wind On VOD Channels
The independent thriller, THE SOUND OF THE WIND, is now available on Amazon and Video On Demand. The soundtrack is also available on Apple Music.
- (1888PressRelease) May 13, 2020 - JDG Entertainment announced today the release of the mental health-focused thriller, The Sound of The Wind, from Writer/Director Jared Douglas, across multiple VOD channels just in time for Mental Health Awareness Month. Available now on Amazon for US and UK markets, and Vimeo On Demand worldwide; the film will be available on iTunes and Google Play Store in June.
The film follows Lucio, a young man whose paranoia has him torn between the pain of abandoning his daughter and the safety of his own life. However, as the film goes on and we learn more about him, we begin to question whether he is truly a reliable narrator. The film stars newcomers Stefanie Rons, Dwayne Tarver, and features a mesmerizing performance by lead Actor, Christian Gnecco Quintero as Lucio.
“The Sound of The Wind came from a very personal place for me,” said Douglas. “Growing up, I witnessed mental illness firsthand and always felt that the representations I saw on screen were not what I had experienced. Throughout the process, it was important to us to make sure that any choice was truthful to Lucio’s mental illness.”
Originally slated to premiere at The Method Fest Independent Film Festival prior to the Los Angeles Stay-at-Home order; the film had a private digital premiere on April 30th. The film went on to a one-week run on Laemmle Virtual Cinema web portal. Due to the film’s popularity with audiences, Laemmle Virtual Cinema extended the film’s theater engagement through May 14th.
Additionally, the film’s haunting soundtrack composed by Los Angeles based Musician, Composer, and Producer Julian Pollack is now available on Apple Music.
