JCQ Named Dr. Naseer Homoud As Chairman Of Jordanian Support Committee For AFC Asian Cup
Jordanian Community of Qatar has formed a Support Committee under chairmanship of eminent Jordanian Dr. Naseer Homoud to facilitate and look after the fans supporting Jordan national team at AFC Asian Cup matches. Visiting Jordanian Football team to Qatar for AFC Asian Cup was extended with warm welcome by Jordanians at Doha airport on January 5, 2011.
- (1888PressRelease) January 12, 2011 - A committee of Jordanians living in Qatar from JCQ has been formed to facilitate the things for national team whilst its stay in Doha. The committee Chairman Dr. Naseer Homoud said that the goal of warm reception and welcome for the team is to strengthen the morale of players, technicians and administrators. The committee under chairmanship of Dr. Homoud has to ensure the establishment of the members of the association of fans throughout the duration of their stay in Doha and to mobilize support for the team from Jordanians living in Qatar so that they are present in every match which Jordanian team has to play. Then team is set to play with two heavyweights namely, Japan and Saudi Arabia along with Syria. The committee will also ensure providing with match tickets to fans and special offers for fans for hotel bookings and flight reservations coming to Qatar and to transport them from airport free of charge.
Jordanian team visiting Qatar for AFC Asian Cup received warm welcome from Jordanians at Doha airport. The visiting delegation under leadership of Prince Ali Bin Hussein, Head of the Union of National Team arrived on January 5, 2011 and was received by Dr. Naseer Homoud who is also IIMSAM Goodwill Ambassador and Regional Director of its Middle East Office accompanied by several other Jordanians living in Qatar.
As the Jordanian team has to take on with Japanese team on Saturday January 9, 2011 the community wished all best for its team and assured their support and cheer up for team. The team is staying in Millennium Hotel and has already started its practice sessions. The national team was greeted with flowers and Jordanian flags with pictures of His Majesty King Abdullah II. The permanent mission of Jordan in Qatar was also present on this occasion.
Apprising on arrangements of the committee Dr. Homoud said "these efforts are out of our duty towards the nation and a small tribute to country from Jordanians living in Qatar". He urged Jordanians residing in Gulf countries to come to Doha to ensure audiences for national team's match to cope with large numbers of fans of the teams participating in the tournament.
He informed that the Committee has provided basic supplies, what was needed, to encourage fans for supporting the national team. He said that images of His Majesty King Abdullah II Bin Al Hussein, the flags of Jordan in different sizes along with T- shirts dedicated to the public printed with the slogan of supporting the national team would be provided for fans to cheer up and support national team of Jordan.
Dr. Homoud also met with team manager Mr. Osama Talal and apprised him on level of developments and facilities organized by the support committee and assured him for all support whatever the visiting delegation would need. Dr. Homoud said that the committee is also coordinating with other Jordanian cultural organizations in other Gulf States so that they can mobilize Jordanians living in their respective countries to visit Qatar for ensuring attendance and massive support for the national team. The Committee also expressed confidence in the ability of the Jordanian team to carry the banner of the homeland and the achievements during the tournament and wished all best for its future endeavors.
Dr. Naseer Homoud is broadly acclaimed for his adore and support for sports and due to his profound attachment to sports his continuous support for sporting events all across the Middle East region is much-admired. He also serves as Honorary President of Al- Hussein Club and Advisor for Arab Society of Non Violence. Dr. Homoud has been supporting and sponsoring several sporting events in Jordan and Middle East region and he believes that sports should be used as a connection to unite all, irrespective is their personal affiliations. In his view, sport events should be supported from all corners because it directly related to ultimate benefit of mankind. "To live a healthy life requires sports and they provide people with entertainment and something to get excited about and they are topics for conversation. They provide a common bond for complete strangers and a common team to cheer for". Dr. Homoud said.

Dr. Homoud's sincere and honest endeavors have been widely acclaimed in Middle East Region and he has always been consistent on supporting national team of Jordan, a member of the support committee asserted.
