Jazzing it up at The George Bernard Shaw Theatre, Carlow
Dave Jones is one of the leading Welsh Jazz musicians and is currently enjoying the success of his second album with praise from the likes of Jazzwise magazine and other jazz publications.
- (1888PressRelease) April 05, 2011 - Performing in The GB Shaw Theatre, Carlow on April 15th he will be joined by the rising talent of phenomenal Welsh bassist Ashley- John Long, a unique voice on his instrument, the seasoned session multi-instrumentalist Lee Goodhall, voted most popular saxophonist in Wales 2009 and versatile Irish talent Kevin Lawlor on drums. Having recorded in Wales in the summer of 2010 the group will perform the celebrated music of Dave Jones as well as some group collaborations.
Kevin hails from Wexford and has been playing for about 12 years having started playing in bands when he was just 14 years of age. He has performed with some great Jazz musicians such as Louis Stewart, Tommy Halferty & Phil Ware among others. He has also worked with the fantastic Jazz / Blues musician Rusty McCarthy from Canada. Performing together as 'Dave Jones Quartet' it promises a night of great music!
