Jazz Makes a Visit to Northern Minnesota
Ruttger's Bay Lake Lodge presents a weekend of wine and jazz music, from August 19-21, featuring Minnesota vocalist Charmin Michelle.
- Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN-WI (1888PressRelease) August 04, 2011 - For many years, Ruttger's Bay Lake Lodge has been a haven for golf, fishing and sunshine enthusiasts. But this year, in cooperation with the Dakota Jazz Club, Ruttger's is presenting their First Annual Wine and Jazz Weekend, from August 19-21.
Guests will be treated to three days of the "finer things," including daily and nightly wine tasting, a chocolate dessert presentation, and an afternoon pontoon boat cruise. Several seminars will also be provided, educating guests on a variety of captivating topics. Guests have the opportunity to attend a wine blending seminar, provided by Dry Creek Vineyards, as well as a golf clinic on Saturday. The schedule for the First Annual Wine and Jazz Weekend festivities is available online at http://ruttgers.com.
The main event of the weekend, however, is the jazz music. Featuring two elegant evenings of jazz trios, Ruttger's has partnered with Minneapolis' Dakota Jazz Club & Restaurant to bring a taste of the city to northern Minnesota. On Friday, August 19, the Benny Weinbeck Trio will be playing for several hours, followed by a bonfire at dusk. The following evening, August 20, the Sam Miltich Trio will take the stage, accompanied by vocalist Charmin Michelle. A Birmingham, Alabama native, Michelle now calls Minnesota home. She has toured Europe, performing solo, and at jazz festivals.
