Although many have already donated to Relief International's efforts, more funding is most certainly needed
(1888PressRelease) April 06, 2011 - New York, NY - Jan Michael Berkowitz, 25-plus year clean energy leader and longtime philanthropist, recently donated $1,000.00 to Relief International and is encouraging others to join in helping Japan.
In light of the recent tragic natural disasters in Japan including a 8.9 magnitude earthquake that occurred 80 miles offshore and the devastating tsunami that followed, various funds have been established in order to support organizations providing relief and aid to victims. Jan Michael Berkowitz was compelled to donate in order to help the country and numerous victims.
The earthquake and subsequent tsunami have devastated Japan; more than 11,500 have been confirmed dead, approximately 2,900 were injured and more than 16,500 are still missing. According to officials, the catastrophic quake and tsunami could cost Japan's government upwards of 300 billion dollars.
Jan Michael Berkowitz donated through Relief International, a humanitarian non-profit agency that provides emergency relief, rehabilitation, development assistance, and program services to vulnerable communities worldwide. Relief International has been at the forefront of emergency relief efforts, working with Japanese aid groups to provide essential medical relief and life-saving supplies to those who need it most. 100% of donations made to Relief International are directed to their relief efforts in Japan.
"I wanted to do whatever I could to help the victims of the disaster in Japan," noted Jan Michael Berkowitz. "The devastation is incomprehensible and they need all of the help they can get." Jan Michael Berkowitz is urging everyone to do what they can to help the victims of the disaster in Japan. "Although many have already donated to Relief International's efforts, more funding is most certainly needed," explained Jan Michael Berkowitz. Donations made to Relief International will provide immediate medical support, clean drinking water and live-saving supplies to Japan earthquake survivors.
