Many would say that Jana started later in life than most artists. She started singing in High School as part of the choir. From there, Jana went on to sing in a local band and working at a Paramount theme park as a singer and dancer.

In 2007, her album 'American Indian Story' was nominated for a prestigious Grammy award. She has also won eight Native-American Music Awards; including Female Artists of the Year and Record of the Year.

Jana has performed in front of many sold-out audiences throughout her career in the US and abroad. Some of the most memorable are the Aboriginal Achievement Awards Show in Toronto and the Luxembourg Military Charity Event which raised over 2.5 Million dollars for children's Cancer research.
