  • New York, NY (1888PressRelease) December 21, 2011 - iVolunteer NY is encouraging members of the public interested in helping the elderly and learning from Holocaust survivors and their stories to RSVP to the 2012 Annual iVolunteer Gala. Designed to support iVolunteer's NYC volunteer opportunities, the event will occur from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012 at Manhattan's Angel Orensanz Center; more information is available at http://www.iVolunteerNY.com/gala-event-2012.

Although iVolunteer is based in New York City, the organization's gala is designed to raise money to fund the support and home visitation of Holocaust survivors throughout the country. The iVolunteer Gala will also benefit the organization's SurvivorStories.org project, a new effort to collect and share footage of Holocaust survivors and their stories. Much of the funding will come from the NY volunteer event's silent auction, which will include high-ticket items in entertainment, travel, fashion, and jewelry.

"The Annual iVolunteer Gala is a celebration of all of the hard work our staff, volunteers, and community have put into helping the elderly over the past year. It also serves as a platform for local residents and business owners to support our mission to provide companionship and care to Holocaust survivors, enabling our volunteers to forge lasting friendships and learn from history," said Rabbi Tzvi Tauby, who founded iVolunteer NY with his wife Sheva.

Attendees can purchase tickets to the event in support of Holocaust survivor volunteering in NY at five different price levels. iVolunteer is offering Friend tickets for $125 per person, or $150 at the door, which offer auction access in addition to top-quality liquor, a wine tasting, and hors d'oeuvres. For $200, Partner tickets earn attendees premium liquor and a mention in the 2012 gala booklet, as well as a $10 silent auction certificate and a raffle ticket to win an iPad.

Larger parties can purchase Pillar ticket packages at $375, which include two tickets, a $25 credit to the auction to support volunteering in NYC, and four tickets for the iPad raffle, with a business card advertisement thrown in. Builder tickets are the next level up; at $850, each package features five tickets, a $50 auction certificate, 10 iPad raffle tickets, and a half-page ad in the gala booklet.

Businesses are encouraged to sign up as Sponsors for $2,500, which will earn them 10 tickets at a sponsored table, a full-page ad, $200 towards the silent auction, and 25 tickets to win an iPad. As a special thanks, iVolunteer NY is also gifting its Sponsor-level guests a bottle of Blue Label Johnnie Walker Scotch. Current Sponsors supporting the NY volunteer effort include Google, Axel, Metro-Spaces, DesiHits!, Affinity Commercial, DJ Skee, JEMB Realty, Hiltzik Strategies, and Brooklyn online marketing company Ajax Union.

The 2012 Annual iVolunteer Gala will occur at the Angel Orensanz Center at 172 Norfolk St., New York, NY. Tickets and information are available at http://www.iVolunteerNY.com/gala-event-2012.
