iVolunteer NY Now Selling Tickets for Its Gala in Support of NYC Volunteer Opportunities to Provide Companionship to Holocaust Survivors
Not-for-profit organization iVolunteer NY, which enables young volunteers to help the elderly holocaust survivors in their communities, is now offering tickets for its 2012 Annual iVolunteer Gala. The event is an opportunity for community members to donate proceeds towards the organization's continuing efforts to support Holocaust survivors through home visitations and other care services. "Our Annual 2012 iVolunteer Gala is an exciting chance for members of the community to learn more about our efforts to help the elderly Holocaust survivors around the country, while raising funds to ensure the continuation of our care and support services in New York. Gala guests will also be treated to top shelf liquor, hors d'oeuvres, live entertainment, and auction participation. It's a way to learn about our organization and volunteering in NYC while also having a lively night out," said Rabbi Tzvi Tauby, co-founder of iVolunteer NY.
Guests of the volunteering in NYC event are able to choose from among five different ticket packages, which begin at $125 per person and go up to $2,500 to sponsor a table. All tickets ensure guests' access to food, drinks, a wine tasting and entertainment, travel, fashion, and jewelry auctions.
More than just an agency linking volunteers with survivors, iVolunteer is a community that brings together people from different backgrounds and generations. iVolunteer NY pairs a holocaust survivor with a younger volunteer to ensure they are cared for and to provide them with valued company. Volunteers help the elderly survivors with personal tasks and doctor visits as well listen to and record their stories; one of the organization's many goals is to encourage the community to learn from history.
