Irvine Company's Major Revinestment In Newport Gateway Attracting Tech Companies
Cie Digital Labs is the fourth tech company in six months to lease at the 570,000-square-foot campus at the corner of MacArthur Boulevard and Jamboree Road.
- Orange County, CA (1888PressRelease) September 01, 2015 - Irvine Company Office Properties today announced that Cie Digital Labs, an interactive development firm and technology startup studio, has signed a five-year lease for 13,054 square feet of office space at tech-friendly Newport Gateway in Irvine.
Cie Digital, which had been headquartered in Long Beach, is the fourth technology company in six months to lease at Newport Gateway, a 570,000-square-foot campus that features two 14-story office buildings at the corner of MacArthur Boulevard and Jamboree Road.
"The city of Irvine is quickly growing into a hub for tech startups," said Anderee Berengian, chairman of Cie Digital Labs. "There are both mature and young tech companies that call this area home. The growing technology sector in Irvine combined with one of the best areas to live in Southern California will make it easier for us to attract quality talent, which will be important for us as we rapidly scale our core business and create new ventures."
The Irvine Company recently completed a major reinvestment at Newport Gateway that provides a coastal California lifestyle experience for those working at the 12-acre campus. New features include a sleek, timeless design; indoor common areas with café-style seating for collaboration; a modernized lobby; a revamped conference center; revitalized outdoor spaces with soft seating and complimentary Wi-Fi; an expanded fitness center with training studio; a game room with ping-pong, Foosball and pool tables; and more.

Three other technology companies recently leased at Newport Gateway: Mfour, a mobile market research company leased 14,105 square feet; Click Software expanded and now occupies 9,400 square feet; and Oculus, a technology company that was recently acquired by Facebook, has subleased 30,000 square feet to Acorn Group, a company that has created one of the fastest growing mobile investment applications. Oculus still maintains 10,000 square feet of space at the project.
Cie Digital Labs, which started as an interactive development firm, has evolved into a startup studio. Cie Digital uniquely leverages the experience and market insights from its interactive development side of the business to identify new startup ventures. The company carefully selects new opportunities from initial idea, designs the initial product and technology, provides operational resources, and then brings in highly qualified entrepreneurs when the ventures are ready to become their own independent companies.
