- Bethesda-Frederick-Gaithersburg, MD (1888PressRelease) July 10, 2011 - Irons Fitness, located at 7700 Wisconsin Avenue, in the Bethesda Place courtyard (up the stairs from Caribou Coffee) is now open. This state-of-the-art, personal training studio was designed to maximize the personal training experience in a comfortable, attractive, and fun environment. A studio for those who feel intimidated by large gyms or who want a more personal, private, training experience. There is simply nothing like it in the DC area.
Irons Fitness clients currently range in age from 18 to 75. They are busy executives and stay-at-home moms, students and active seniors. It doesn't matter if someone is in shape or out of shape, Irons Fitness is ideal for anyone wanting to lead a healthier, happier lifestyle and to train with knowledgeable, caring, and fun trainers.
Irons Fitness has created a space outfitted with the finest equipment made today. This includes: Keiser Strength Equipment, Keiser bikes, Woodway Treadmills, Precor Ellipticals, TRX suspension trainers, and Matrix Krankcycles. This is the same equipment used by NFL, NBA, NHL and Major League Baseball teams. Why does this matter? Because it allows clients to get the safest, most effective, most efficient workout possible.
The studio is founded by Nick Irons, personal trainer, author, and ultra-endurance athlete. Nick made national headlines when he became the first person in 70 years to swim the length of the Mississippi River and the first to swim it with the locks and dams of its "modern" form. His 1,550-mile swim was to raise national awareness and funding for multiple sclerosis (MS) research, the disease his dad lives with. He continued his mission on behalf of MS by completing a 10,000 mile bike ride around the perimeter of the United States.
He is joined by a "dream team" of trainers, including Kim Teri, who was voted Bethesda's Best Personal Trainer 2008 & 2010 by Bethesda Magazine, Colin Cooley, holds a Masters Degree in Exercise Science and is an adjunct faculty member at American University in Washington, DC, Robert Terri who combines his extensive experience and expertise in health, dance and fitness to train, teach and develop elite fitness programs, and David Taylor who is a former World Champion Powerlifter and a European and World Record Holder in the deadlift.
Together they have over 25 years of combined experience. Several have advanced degrees in exercise science. All hold advanced certifications. They have been nationally ranked athletes. And they have been featured in nearly every form of media in the country, including: The Today Show, Good Morning America, ESPN, USA Today, The Washington Post, The Washingtonian, and Bethesda Magazine.
Irons Fitness specializes in by-appointment-only one-on-one personal training. Clients work hand-in-hand with a member of an outstanding team of certified personal trainers to achieve amazing results.
Irons Fitness also offers small-group personal training sessions. Two or three friends work together with a personal trainer. Lots of fun…always effective.
