According the Iraqi Communications and Media Commission there are now approximately 23 million mobile phone subscribers in the country. The Iraqi Minister of Communications H.E. Mohammed T Allawi stated "the ministry will aim to boost fixed-line phone penetration and internet reach to 25 percent within the five years, through a $3 Billion development project and has allocated $500 million to spend on the telecoms industry this year."
Iraq Telecoms 2011 will take place next week between the 25-26 October 2011 at the Ritz Carlton in Istanbul proving to be the leading event of its kind year on year, this two day conference provides telecoms operators, service providers, network providers, ISPs and WLL operators from around the global with key industry updates and knowledge along with unique networking opportunities.
