Investment projects in the field of solar energy in Russia to be presented at the REF-2013 Moscow Forum

(1888PressRelease) September 18, 2013 - Russian solar energy industry as the sector of clean technology finally is entering the stage of practical implementation. On September, 30 "Trading System Administrator of the Wholesale Electricity Market" will announce the results of the first competitive selection of investment projects for the construction of generating facilities in Russia, operating on the basis of renewable energy sources. Companies planning to build solar power plants in Russia could apply their applications from the end of August to the 10th of September.

Considering creation of a legal framework for state support of renewable energy in Russia this year, project selection opens up new perspectives for the construction of solar and wind parks in the coming years. This, in turn, creates the conditions for the diversification of the business of many Russian industrial companies toward the production of components for infrastructure projects in the field of sustainable energy.

By the end of September the first 120 MW of projects will be allocated only that receive state support and must be implemented in 2014.

Development of solar energy plants with indicated total installed capacity in just one year in a country where solar energy projects have existed only on paper until recently, is able to create a significant impetus for the development of this promising sector of energy in Russia, and to lead Russia to the leaders of this strategic segment in long term prospect.

Following a competitive selection of renewable energy projects, applying for a special connection conditions offered by the Russian legislation today, will be held from the beginning of 2014. The market participants believe it has great promise, because next year there will be decided what companies are going to build almost two gigawatts of capacity renewable energy in Russia.

Investment projects in the field of Russian solar and wind energy will be presented at the REF-2013 Moscow, 2nd International Sustainable Energy Forum in Russia and CIS, which will be held on November, 12-13.

The top managers of the companies which won the first competitive selection, as well as the major operators announced renewable energy projects in Russia and the CIS will participate in Forum. Leading financial institutions and bankers will present their vision and programs for the development of the new energy sector and chairmen of government agencies will present the program of state support for construction and operation of sustainable energy in the region.
