- (1888PressRelease) January 26, 2017 - January 24, 2017 - Interstate Container, creator of Greencoat® wax-free corrugated boxes, is driving the poultry industry shift to coated recyclable packaging at IPPE 2017. Meeting with attendees at Booth # C-1521, representatives will highlight the key environmental and financial benefits of coated wax-free boxes during the event from January 31- February 2, 2017 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, GA.
Interstate Container works hand-in-hand with poultry processors to transition, phase by phase, to wax-free, recyclable and repulpable Greencoat boxes. While traditional unrecyclable wax-coated boxes end up in landfills, recyclable Greencoat boxes help poultry processors as well as their end customers, including retailers, food service distributors and restaurants significantly reduce carbon footprint.
Leading the Evolution to Sustainable Poultry Packaging
Since developing Greencoat® boxes in 2009, Interstate Container has been leading the evolution to sustainable packaging in the poultry industry, participating annually in IPPE. Today, Interstate Container supplies 6 of the 15 top poultry processors in the US, including Mountaire Farms, who runs the largest individual poultry processing plant in the US. Currently, Interstate Container ships over 12 million Greencoat boxes a month.
"Interstate Container's on-going growth with Greencoat® packaging in the poultry industry continues to transform the market. Annually we witness a reduction of over 100,000 tons of wax boxes that used to be landfilled thanks to our customers that have transitioned to Greencoat® boxes. The time has come for the rest of our industry to evolve and make the switch from landfilled wax boxes, and to our recyclable, repulpable, and biodegradable Greencoat®. Greencoat® is without a doubt the leading wax replacement box in the market. Ask for Greencoat®." Pete Bugas, Vice President-Greencoat® & Coated Container Group, explains.
Facilitating the Transition to Wax-Free Packaging
The coated corrugated packaging manufacturer offers free trials side-by-side with current packaging to help processors witness firsthand Greencoat box performance in comparison to environmentally harmful wax boxes. Interstate Container also provides Mechanical Packaging Services dedicated to ensuring poultry processors' box rooms produce the best quality boxes to ship and store poultry. Mechanical Packaging Services include: Machine inspection and preventive maintenance planning, machine refurbishment, box room efficiency evaluation, training, and waste reduction measures.
