Jesse Willms has sponsored more than 99 World Vision children and intends to sponsor 7 additional children every week for the next year.
(1888PressRelease) September 03, 2010 - Jesse Willms, one of the youngest successful Internet entrepreneurs in Canadian history, has made a long-term commitment to helping World Vision give impoverished children the future they deserve.
In the last month alone, Jesse has sponsored more than 99 children through World Vision and intends to keep sponsoring at least seven more every week for the foreseeable future.
"I have had a huge amount of success as an entrepreneur, and I'm proud of that," Willms said. "Now I think it's time to start giving back to the community. World Vision is an important charity doing great work, and I am happy to help them with their mission."
World Vision is an international Christian charity that provides faith, hope, food and medicine to children suffering from the effects of poverty. They have helped more than 100 million people in 100 countries around the world.
The charity allows donors to sponsor individual children, so they can see the direct effect their donations have on the children's lives. Willms started out with an initial sponsorship of over 99 children, and has sponsored an additional child every day since.
"I was blessed with a wonderful childhood, but I know that most children are not that lucky," Willms said. "I want to do everything I with my success to help children get a better start in life, so they can aspire to a better future."
Willms is a noted Internet entrepreneur who started making money online when he was only 16 years old, buying and selling computers and software online. By the time he was 22 years old he had launched several internet companies.
This summer, inspired by Warren Buffet and Bill Gates, he started giving back to the community and has made donations to a wide variety of charities.
"I plan to continue to find new ways to help in any way I can," Willms said.
