International District 3190 partner with Consulate General of Israel to South India Collaborate on "Innovation in Education – Train the Trainers training”
Rotary International District 3190 in collaboration with Israel Consulate to South India is organizing a 4 day workshop for School Teachers in 4 different districtsThe subsequent workshops are being conducted in Tumkur: July 16, 2018, Ramnagaram: July 17, 2018 and Hoskote: July 18, 2018 on how to nurture Innovation to students.
- (1888PressRelease) July 17, 2018 - Rotary International District 3190 in collaboration with Israel Consulate to South India is organizing a 4 day workshop for School Teachers in 4 different districtsThe subsequent workshops are being conducted in Tumkur: July 16, 2018, Ramnagaram: July 17, 2018 and Hoskote: July 18, 2018 on how to nurture Innovation to students. The first of the series is hosted by prestigious 85 year old clubs to take the training forward.
The workshop is a long-term initiative between RID 3190 and Israel Consulate South India to train teachers to lead the children to think innovatively.This initiative was conceived in a meeting between Her Excellency Ms. Dana Kursh- the Consul General of Israel and Immediate Past District Governor of RID 3190, Rtn. Asha Prasannakumar in June 2018. The speed with which the first program is happening in July shows the determination and commitment from both Israel Consul General and the Rotary District3190.
Past Dist. Governor Rtn Asha Prasanna Kumar said: “By joining hands with Israel is to bring a fresh flavor and method of Innovative teaching capabilities among our teachers as the responsibility of a teacher is not only to craft a solid basis for the young learners and provide them with ainnovative learning environment that can make a difference to children's development and, therefore, their life’s choices. In order to cater to a group of growing up children the trainers should have the ability to think creatively as well as devise unique ways to teach a lesson.”
Her Excellency Dana Krush, Counsel General of Israel stated: “India and Israel partnership is relaying a lot on Innovation. The formula is “Triple I”- India- Israel Innovation- This is the secret to have a better future to all. The Main reason for having the expert was to share practices to build teacher capacity to empower the next generation of India through Innovation.”
The workshop was conducted Dr. Shahaf Gal-Expert from Israel, to train the teachers by applying his knowledge/ technical capabilities to the Indian education system. He brings in 25 years of experience as an academician and hands-on entrepreneur. Dr. Gal has worked in the USA, Israel, Colombia, India, France and other countries as an entrepreneur in information-rich and knowledge immersed products for corporate, workplace and education. He holds a doctorate degree from Harvard Graduate School of Education in Administration, Planning and Social Policy.
Dr. Shahaf said: “It was a great opportunity to train in an innovative Training and interact with teachers about creating opportunities for students to Innovation and Creative thinking and make the utmost their learning experiences. It’s a wonderful experience to join hands between India and Israel to unwise, to leverage the adults and students in preparing them for the global changes taking place more and more rapidly.”
The all paid workshop, for the Teachers, focused on ways to enhance teaching and learning for innovation and ways to sustain and nurture on a continuous basis.

Till recently, Rotary Club of Bangalore has driven initiatives such as Young Innovator Award with contests amongst school children. One of the focus areas of Rotary Club of Bangalore is in the area of Education thus has created 108 happy schools and have conducted number of Train the Trainers program to improve the quality of learning in schools.Every year, Rotary District 3190, through its Rotary clubs conducts workshops and training sessions to train over 5000 Teachers besides providing 100s of e-learning kits.
