Intercontinental At Doral Miami To Host Third Annual "Party In Pink" Zumbathon
Benefiting Susan G. Komen Foundation.
- Miami, FL (1888PressRelease) October 02, 2013 - Zumba® Fitness will hold its Third Annual Party in Pink™ Zumbathon® in partnership with Susan G. Komen for the Cure at the InterContinental at Doral Miami on Saturday October 19, 2013 from 12 to 1:30 pm.
The Party in Pink™ charity campaign was launched worldwide three years ago by Zumba® Fitness and ZIN™ (Zumba Instructor Network). The goal was to connect Zumba® instructors and facilities to create public awareness of breast cancer and raise funds for prevention research. Since its inception, the Party in Pink™ has raised over $3 million worldwide, bringing out Zumba® instructors and fans to a series of events that count with hundreds of participants.
The event at the hotel is led by Claudia Santana, Zumba® instructor and member of ZIN™, who has been instrumental in attracting hundreds of participants. Last year the InterContinental at Doral Miami had close to 400 men and women doing Zumba to raise money for the cause. This year, Claudia and the InterContinental at Doral Miami hope to get over 500 participants for the Party in Pink™.
Breast cancer affected over 1,400 men and women in Miami-Dade County in 2010, according to the University of Miami Health System. So far this year the American Cancer Society has reported that 15,710 women have been diagnosed in Florida.
One hundred percent of the event proceeds will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, an organization dedicated to ground-breaking research, community health outreach, advocacy, and programs in more than 50 countries.
