Ultra-high frequency (UHF) is the ITU designation for radio frequencies spanning 300 MHz to 3 GHz, also known as the decimeter band as the wavelengths extend from one decimeter to one meter. Common applications in the UHF 350-1000 MHz range include mobile radio (PMR, GMRS, LMRS, FRS, SMR), terrestrial trunked radio (TETRA), amateur (HAM) radio, radiolocation and radio navigation.
RFID uses electromagnetic fields to automatically identify and track tags attached to objects. The tags contain electronically stored information. Passive tags collect energy from a nearby RFID reader's interrogating radio waves. Active tags have a local power source (such as a battery) and may operate hundreds of meters from the RFID reader. INSTOCK devices support 433 MHz, 865-868 MHz and 902-928 MHz RFID frequency bands.
TETRA is a European standard for a trunked radio system and two-way transceiver specification. TETRA was specifically designed for use by government agencies emergency services, public safety networks, rail and transport services and the military. INSTOCK devices support the 380-385 MHz, 385-390 MHz, 390-400 MHz and 410-430 MHz TETRA frequency bands.
