The Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad announces its Convocation 2011 on Thursday,March 17 at 4 PM at its campus in Raj Nagar, Ghaziabad.
- (1888PressRelease) March 23, 2011 - Mr. Nandan Nilekani, Chairman of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), Government of India, will be delivering the convocation address. The function will be presided over by Mr. Kamal Nath, Union Minister of Urban Development,
Government of India and President, Board of Governors, Institute of Management Technology.
The programme will begin at 4 PM sharp. All the guests are requested to take their seats on time to avoid late rush. The inauguration of the programme will be done with the lighting of lamp and Saraswati Vandana. After the reading of the Driector's report, Mr Kamal Nath will address the audience. Mr Nandan Nilekani's convocation address will follow.
Mr Nandan Nilekani was the CEO of Infosys, one of the largest IT companies in India till July 2009. He left Infosys to serve as the chairperson of the Unique Identification Authority of India in the rank of a cabinet minister after invitation from the Prime Minister of India, Dr Manmohan Singh. Mr Nilekani also co-founded India's National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM) and the Bangalore Chapter of The IndUS Entrepreneurs (TiE).
The rest of the Convocation programme includes awarding of medals, felicitation of distinguished alumnus and administration of management oath. There will be awarding of the diplomas to PGDM programme students, with specializations in fields like Marketing and Operations, Human Resources,Finance, International Business, Information Technology and Operations Management. The closing of
convocation will be followed by dinner for all the invitees.
