Instant Mobile Payment Scheme Launched for Tradespeople Forcing the Banks to Change How they Charge for Credit Cards
A brand new mobile, one click, payment request system for the trades has been launched to eliminate the need for bank credit card machines and all of their costs.
- (1888PressRelease) May 07, 2012 - Tradespeople across the world often struggle to get payments from customers and banks can charge a small fortune for credit card facilities to small businesses struggling to make ends meet. Many small businesses do not meet the criteria for banks credit card payment machines and thousands of tradespeople are left without the ability to take credit or debit card payments. This means that they have to rely upon cash or cheques. The customer often does not carry sufficient cash with them to pay for anything but small jobs, and cheques can be stopped, lost or even bounce. Independent research shows that up to 90% of independent trades people have either lost work through their inability to accept credit or debit card payments, or suffered bad debt as customers to do not honour invoices and payment promises.
To date there has been little that a tradesperson can do to help themselves in this situation, but Tradetill has been launched to great excitement in order to support the small business who needs customers to pay quickly. It has been designed to be incredibly simple to use, and feedback from BETA testing has been fantastically positive.
As James Hackett, Product Manager, of TradeTill says "We wanted something that really helped the everyday plumber, electrician, decorator, even hairdresser, to be able to take credit and debit card payments simply and at low cost. Our technical experts developed this very simple, but efficient system and now within five minutes a payment request can be sent out via mobile to a customer's mobile phone, pc or tablet and payment received instantly. The trades do not have to handle customer credit cards and that gives the customer a sense of security, and when the plumber gets back in his office, all of his invoices and payment details are already there, waiting for him in a format that he can use for his own accounting system. This means that one of our customers can receive payment in full, before he has left the premises after completing a job"
The system is the brainchild of Barry James, co-founder of TradeTill and developer of the technology behind the product. He became frustrated by the difficulties that he encountered whilst trying to pay a mobile auto-technician who came to his business but who could not receive payment in anything other than cash. "it was incredibly annoying" says Barry. "I knew there had to be a better way and we worked hard to develop a perfect solution for both the business and the customer. We built simple options like discount codes and annual subscriptions in that could be programmed with only one click. Our customer care team are there to help anyone setting up an account, but it couldn't be more simple"
With prices from only 19p per transaction to achieve instant payment, from a satisfied customer who enjoys the security of a no-card handling process, it is a small price to pay for tradespeople who are struggling the world over to get paid on time.
A national marketing campaign is now underway to promote the product as the more people that use the system the more it will force the banks to change the way that they charge for credit card facilities. TradeTill is leading that campaign.
