Gary Sinise was interviewed as part of a program for honoring World War II veterans and will appear as part of the Public Television Series.
(1888PressRelease) August 12, 2009 - Insights field producers spoke with Gary Sinise speaking about issues surrounding World War II veterans as part of a series of short-form segments for Public Television.
War Memorials are being erected and built in all sorts of ways to honor the veterans who have served our country and supported our freedoms. Among these memorials there are those that pay tribute to World War II. Gary Sinise said, “A memorial that pays tribute to the sacrifices of our brave veterans through all our wars is long overdue. Our warriors come home injured with afflictions that they’ll have for the rest of their lives so we can never repay that. One of the best things we can do for them, to honor them, is not forget what they’ve done.”
The executive producer stated, “Raising awareness is what these war memorials are all about. Raising awareness is also what the Insights program is about. We look to have influential figures speaking about important topics in order to raise the level of education the country has on a given topic. In this case, the story could not be more important. Remembering our veterans is something we do nationally as a country and something we should do individually as well - and it shouldn’t be one day a year.”
Insights is featuring a number of humanitarian stories that will be educating on the work our military accomplishes to support our country.
