Inroads to Opportunities names Angela Calzone as President and CEO.
- Newark, NJ (1888PressRelease) July 12, 2023 - Effective July 1st, 2023, Angela Calzone was named President & CEO of Inroads to Opportunities. Inroads is a Union County, NJ, based non-profit human services agency that provides programs and services to individuals with disabilities ranging in age from 16 to retirement. Calzone succeeded Michelle Ford, MA., LPC, LRC, who served as President & CEO of Inroads to Opportunities for a decade.
Previously, Calzone held a variety of executive leadership positions to include Chief Operating Officer for The Webster Apartments, New York, NY and Senior Vice President of Talent Resources, MWW Group.
Calzone also served as co-managing member at Change & Response Strategies, LLC for over a decade helping private, public, and not-for-profit organizations meet their business objectives by clarifying their company vision and strategic objectives, strengthening their competitive advantage, improving their business processes, overall infrastructure, and staff development.
Throughout her career, Calzone has received numerous state-wide accolades in recognition of her exceptional leadership both as a serial entrepreneur and business professional. She has been among the finalists of NJ’s Leading Women Entrepreneurs and Business Owners by NJ Monthly Magazine, celebrated among the NJBIZ Best 50 Women in Business and nominated for Garden State Woman of the Year.
Calzone holds a Master of Arts Degree in Corporate and Organizational Communication from Fairleigh Dickinson University; and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Upsala College. Her passion for giving back to others can be seen in her numerous volunteer positions over the years. She is a former board member for many organizations involving children, social services, and civil rights.

Angela also briefly served on our Board of Directors. We look forward to her continued commitment to our mission in support of individuals with disabilities.”

Since 1959, Inroads to Opportunities, formerly the Occupational Center of Union County, has provided programs and services to over 400 individuals each year with all types of disabilities and ranging in age from 16 through retirement – many of whom are economically disadvantaged. Programs and services include vocational preparation, transition from school to work, job placement, certificate training programs, and mental health services.
Inroads to Opportunities is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), an approved provider of both the NJ Department of Labor, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services and the Commission of the Blind and Visually Impaired. Inroads is licensed by the State of New Jersey Department of Human Services, NJ Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services to provide partial care and by the NJ Department of Developmental Disabilities to provide Day Habilitation Services. Inroads is an approved Medicaid provider, a licensed provider for the NJ Department of Agriculture for its adult day meals program, an approved Employment Network under the Ticket to Work Social Security initiative and an approved Benefits Planning and Counseling Service through the NJ Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services.
