Inroads to Opportunities Announces Railside Café Relocation
Inroads to Opportunities announces the relocation of its Railside Cafe to its new home on the Inroads to Opportunities campus in Roselle, NJ.
- Newark, NJ (1888PressRelease) June 03, 2023 - The Railside Café is a wholly owned social enterprise of Inroads to Opportunities, a non-profit 501c3 social services agency founded in 1959. Inroads is the largest skills training center for individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in New Jersey.
Since 2015, Railside Café has been a community-based integrated employment site where Inroads program participants have been evaluated and trained in food preparation and handling, janitorial services, retail/cashiering and inventory/stocking.
Additionally, several Inroads participants have secured consistent, competitive employment as part-time employees at Railside Café. In large part, the success of the Railside Cafe is attributed to Paul-Michael O'Loughlin, its chef and general manager.
Following Railside Cafe’s relocation announcement, Paul-Michael O’Loughlin stated, “I am thrilled that Railside Café has relocated to Roselle, NJ from its original Fanwood, NJ address. Locating the café directly on the Inroads Campus allows Railside to continue to serve the greater Union County community while offering vocational training and employment options to individuals with disabilities. ABOUT PAUL O’LOUGHLIN:
Paul-Michael O'Loughlin is the General Manager and Chef of the Railside Cafe, a social enterprise cafe/restaurant/caterer owned by Inroads to Opportunities. Born and raised in New Jersey, Paul-Michael has nearly 30 years of experience in the food service industry which have included roles at Sodexo, Darby Rode, Ruby Tuesdays, and Mara's Café before joining the Railside Café. Educated at ACCC Culinary School and Stockton University, Paul-Michael is a palatable force in creating cuisine for all occasions. Whether large scale off-premise catering events, a unique twist to a restaurant staple or a customized intimate dining experience, Paul-Michael puts his heart and soul into every plate. Currently, Paul-Michael resides in Plainfield, NJ with his three children, Mary, Josephine, and Paul Jr. along with his wife, Takiesha. When not cooking up magic or spending cherished time with family, Paul-Michael hosts a podcast called WWATS found on Spotify, Apple Music, and more, which focuses on trending topics, community activism focuses on trending topics, community activism, bourbon tasting, and of course cooking.
ABOUT INROADS TO OPPORTUNITIES:
Since 1959, Inroads to Opportunities, formerly the Occupational Center of Union County, has provided programs and services to over 400 individuals each year with all types of disabilities and ranging in age from 16 through retirement. Programs and services include vocational preparation, transition from school to work, job placement and mental health services.
Inroads to Opportunities is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), an approved provider of the NJ Department of Labor, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services and Commission of the Blind and Visually Impaired. Inroads is licensed by the State of New Jersey Department of Human Services, NJ Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services to provide partial care and the NJ Department of Developmental Disabilities to provide Day Habilitation Services.
