Innovation Campus: Sennheiser invests in developing the company infrastructure
Sennheiser will begin the construction of the company's own Innovation Campus in Germany.
- (1888PressRelease) June 26, 2013 - Wedemark, Germany - Sennheiser electronic GmbH & Co. KG continues its sustainable growth strategy and will begin the construction of the company's own Innovation Campus during July 2013. The building complex will offer space for meetings as well as optimum staff working conditions. The construction work is scheduled for completion by the end of 2014. Included in the campus are plans for a new childcare building, which will open in summer 2014. The total investment amounts to around 20 million euro, of which 1 million euro will be used for the nursery.
The Innovation Campus is part of an extensive site development plan which, following on from the production and technology centre in 2009, sees further development and a reconfiguration of existing structures and buildings. "The company has grown significantly in the last few years," explained Prof. Dr. Jörg Sennheiser. "With this expansion we shall not only create urgently-required space for 300 employees, but we will also strengthen our headquarters and the development of the worldwide Sennheiser Group."
Spanning an area of approximately 3200sqm, in addition to technical office space, the new, modern building will also house a conference facility. A 199-seater Sennheiser theatre is being planned which, amongst other things, will offer the cross-functional project team the opportunity to test and further improve new Sennheiser products using real-life conditions. In the future, visitors will be able to learn about, and purchase, the newest Sennheiser products in an on-site Flagship Store.
The campus will offer employees space for collaborative working and dedicated project areas and will further strengthen innovation while ensuring sustainable growth.
The company's own nursery will be open from Summer 2014 and should allow Sennheiser employees to integrate work and family life much more easily as more and more young parents wish to return to work as soon as possible. In a separate building within the company premises there will be place to play and learn for two groups of a maximum of 30 children between the ages of one and three. As stated by Prof. Dr. Jörg Sennheiser, "We are proud to be able to offer our staff this support and to create a foundation, as a family company, for future generations."
The ground-breaking ceremony is planned for 19.07.2013 at 10:00.
