Ingenesis : The Exciting Integrated Eco Initiative Planned For Thailand
Agriculture and Water Management, Eco Domes for Education and Living, Themed Adventure Park; are all key elements of this new Icon for the Asia Pacific Region
- (1888PressRelease) November 17, 2011 - Synergy GPA is working with International and Thai organizations, and is pleased to announce an exciting and timely mega Eco project to demonstrate how living in harmony with the environment, agriculture, water, culture and history can work.
Graham Catterwell, one of the Executive Directs explained "Close to one fifth of the 1,443 rai (2.3 million m2) land is reserved for large lakes or reservoirs and connecting canals. These lakes are designed to retain sufficient water to serve the needs of the project itself as well of those of farmers in neighbouring areas. They will be large enough to hold water for drought years and are replenished by the Pasak River when it is in flood".
A slightly smaller proportion of the land will be used for experimental and working organic farms, orchards and gardens. Set in the water environment, these will provide a pleasant and restoring atmosphere, demonstrate environmentally friendly agriculture techniques, and yield healthy produce for residents and visitors.
The soil excavated to make the lakes and canals is used to produce hilly areas, allowing the growth of dense natural vegetation and providing a venue for an exciting adventure park.
Eco friendly accommodation will be provided for the agricultural workers and for others who wish to live or spend time in such an environment. This will also include housing units, affordable accommodation for economy visitors as well as a five-star hotel - all certified to international green standards.
Facilities for a variety of traditional medical practices, from both Thailand and elsewhere in the region, will be available, enhanced by modern medical support. A spa and meditation centre will be included.
Thomas Verlohr, another Executive Director added "A research and education centre is an integral part of the project. But perhaps the most exciting part is the Eco Dome Village, designed to be an Asia Pacific Icon that demonstrates ecological interactions and constitutes an educational resource in a way that attracts both tourists and students.
The whole project will also include architectural features reflecting the nearby Si Thep Historical Park, along with a working Hindu Temple bringing the Dvaravati history and culture to life".
Ingenesis Project
It has taken years to plan and test the feasibility, but it is now ready to start and to provide Thailand and the Asia Pacific region with a world class tourist destination which demonstrates how living in harmony with the environment, agriculture, water, adventure parks, culture and history will work.
