This is the first time the leading stakeholders from the top operating companies are coming together to discuss, deliberate and debate on how technology and innovation can help organizations achieve greater production efficiencies. With declining commodity prices, mining companies are looking to produce more with less resources and automation and innovation is the only way forward.
Companies such as Barrick Gold, Kinross, Teck Metals, Dundee Precious Metals, Rio Tinto, Torex Gold and a lot more are participating in this forum. They will be sharing case studies and stories from their operations and how they are using technology to achieve what is being termed by industry experts as "Mines of the Future". This platform will touch base on the latest buzzwords in the industry such as remote operations, drones, simulators, driverless trucks, autonomous equipments just to name a few.
