India, September 15, 2011 - IndianArtCollectors.com, with an aim to promote Indian contemporary art has this fortnight joined hands with celebrated artists from Kolkata, who have come together for a group exhibition- 'A tryst with Kolkata'.
Through this earnest effort, IndianArtCollectors.com wants to bring forth the culture and traditional art of the city, the unique styles, themes and techniques which each artist has to offer through his canvas and sculptor. The fifteen day long exhibition will showcase around 30 works by renowned artists. "Each artwork at display has an individualistic style, covering an array of themes, palettes and techniques. We are sure this enriching experience would be appreciated by all," shares Anuja Lath, CEO and Co-Founder, IndianArtCollectors.com.Taking the viewers to a journey into the culture of Kolkata is Prokash Karmakar, one of the finest artists in India. For the exhibition, he is displaying canvases from his 1984 series. Also at display would be Sanat Kar's works, whose convoluted figures in dream like reality would force you to think.
One of the oldest artists in the country, Ms. Shanu Lahiri is also displaying her canvases. One of the first students of Government School of Arts and Crafts, Kolkata, she is displaying paintings detailing various themes drawn on tradition and popular imagination. Echoing her thoughts is another highly respected artist Shuvaprasanna, who is displaying his unique semi-transparent collection. "Development and advancement has made people busy. Apart from these, other eminent artists like Rabin Mondal, Ramananda Bandyopadhyay, Shipra Bhattacharya, Sekhar Roy, Samindranath Majumdar, Tapas Sarkar, Bipin Goswami, and Anil Sen are also displaying their art-works.
