He earned a Diploma in Painting from the Indian College of Arts and Draftsmanship, Kolkata, in 1989-1994. Mukherjee's commitment to art led him to complete an Art Appreciation Course from the Kolkata Information Centre, under the aegis of the Government of West Bengal's Information & Culture Department, in 1994. Additionally, he pursued a Post-Diploma in Graphics (Printmaking) from M. S. University, Baroda, from 1995 to 1997.
Biswajit Mukherjee has exhibited his work in numerous prestigious group shows, both nationally and internationally. Some of the notable exhibitions that have featured his art include the "Untitled Artist's Group" Exhibition at the Kolkata Information Centre and the Academy of Fine Arts in Kolkata in 1994 and 1996, respectively. He also participated in the 9th Rastriya Kala Mela in Kolkata in 1995-96 and showcased his artwork at Faculty of Fine Arts Gallery, M.S.U., Baroda, in 1997.
Mukherjee's art has been displayed at renowned events such as "Their Story Mega Show" at L.K.A., Rabindra Bhavan, New Delhi, in 2000, and "ABAYAB - A Group of Contemporary Artists" Exhibition at the Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata, in 2003. He has also exhibited his work in countries abroad, including Indonesia, Singapore, and the UAE.
In addition to his exhibitions, Biswajit Mukherjee has received several awards for his outstanding contributions to the art world. His art is also part of numerous private collections in India and abroad.
