Independent Hip Hop Artist Receives Community Enrichment Award During Bronx Week
On May 19, 2013, John Brackett received the Bronx Week Award from Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. for Cultural Community Enrichment through Performing Arts. This Award is given to residents born or raised in the Bronx who show outstanding ability, drive, and potential to be a positive influence to the community with their efforts and artistic Abilities.

His upbringing has allowed him to meet and work with such greats like Afrika Bambaataa, Aventura, Big Pun, Terror Squad, Ne-Yo Down for Life, Camp Lo, Sheek Louch, J Hood, Tony Sunshine, and Remy Martin.
His style has been labeled by fans as a mix between Pit Bull's feel good music and Jay-Z's street flare true to life word play.
In 2012, John Brackett released his first single "Beat It Up" which has had radio spins on NYC's Hot 97 for 13 weeks and on LA's Power 106. Currently, John Brackett is burning up the streets with his new single "Hello", off of his mix tape "The New York Timez", which is produced by BlackSaun of D Block and is being played on Power 105.1 FM in New York.
He was pleasantly surprised by Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. with the prestigious award right after his on stage performance of his newest single titled "Hello" which has been getting him much recognition in and around the NYC Metro area.
