- Farmington, NM (1888PressRelease) February 25, 2011 - Indebo India (www.indebo.com), a Destination Management Company specialising in niche and offbeat travel since 1979 has now launched its wildlife & adventure brand, Indian Outskirts (www.indianoutskirts.com). The brand has been created with the belief that the opportunities in wildlife & adventure travel in the India have not been completely explored yet and that there are quite a few nooks and corners that can be explored. Indian Outskirts plans to address these nooks and corners. This is now especially important considering that more corporates are looking at multi-activities and teambuilding exercises that are in the absolute wild without much human presence.
The activity side of Indian Outskirts includes walks, cycling possibilities in the subcontinent and angling among a host of other multi-activities like kayaking, rafting, rock-climbing and the likes.
There are infinite ways of traversing the continent on one's own two feet. On account of its great geographical diversity and altitudinal variation, the combined entities of India, Nepal, Bhutan and Sri Lanka offers several trekking options through its scenic valleys, rugged mountains, lush forests and meadows. However, it is the snowy domain of the Himalayas that has been the Holy Grail for trekkers and climbers from across the globe. But that's not all. The montane forests of the Western Ghats provide for an excellent contrast to trekkers in search of a different terrain.
It does not matter if two wheels are preferred to two feet. Historical locales, densely forested roads, spice gardens, isolated hamlets, manicured tea gardens, the rubber estates, barren cold deserts and magical waterways of the backwaters wait on this journey of discovery. Through back-country roads away from the bustle of crowds and metropolises, your encounters provide for images and memories of a region that leaves one asking for more. These journeys would be led by experienced and knowledgeable leaders. These guys are not only expert bikers who can tweak and maintain the bikes, but also great company.
On the wildlife front, Indian Outskirts explores the flagship species of India in the impenetrable forests of the Namdapha National Park, the Tiger County in Kanha, Bandhavgarh and Satpura reserves, the cloud forests of the Western Ghats and the High altitude parks in Ladakh. Although they are the celebrities, they are not alone. Just like the Lemurs in Madagascar, the subcontinent has its fair share of endemic species - featuring a number of the rarest and most exotic animals, birds and reptiles on the planet. The brand also explores the amazing variety of birds. India is probably the only country in the world that can boast of harbouring as varied and rich a birdlife as it does - including the Western Tragopan, the Golden Eagle & the Lammegier, the Hornbill, and the giant Kingfisher.
For the more academic, Indian Outskirts explored the various terrains and research projects like King Cobra Telemetry, Marine Biology, Elephant Conservation and Bird Census. These activities make for unique adventures for those interested and for excellent corporate getaways. Considering the growing presence of the Generation Y, these activities make for a good ending to an educational or a conference.
