Inc. Magazine Names John Paul DeJoria and Arkadi Kuhlmann Leaders of the Pack at Inaugural Inc. Riders' Summit
Exclusive open-road conference November 12-15 in Las Vegas merges passions for entrepreneurship and motorcycles.
- Las Vegas, NV-AZ (1888PressRelease) November 07, 2013 - John Paul DeJoria, the co-founder of John Paul Mitchell Systems, and Arkadi Kuhlmann, founder of ING Direct, each came from humble beginnings. Their love of motorcycles helps power their careers and their lives.
DeJoria was once down on his luck and out of money before a fellow biker befriended him. Since then, he has built a global business enterprise that includes John Paul Mitchell Systems and Patrón Spirits. Kuhlmann purchased his first motorcycle because he could not afford a car. Today, he can afford any car he wants-but Kuhlmann still craves the open road on a bike.
Each business titan has signed up as a keynote speaker and Leader of the Pack for the Inc. Riders' Summit-a first-of-its-kind open-road business conference hosted by Inc. magazine.
The Summit will harness business owners' passions for entrepreneurship and riding. The event-open to just 40 owners or C-level executives-will give biking enthusiasts the chance to saddle up and ride with top business stars through the desert and mountains of southern Nevada.
Kuhlmann knew he had to be a part of the conference the minute he heard about it. "A chance to be on the back roads rather than in a boardroom and mingle with others who daily face the challenges of balancing a business and a mission was a prospect that I couldn't pass up," Kuhlmann says. "It is an opportunity for those who share a deep passion of motorcycles to not only get to know each other but also to develop ideas and connections that could transform their businesses.''
Registration is under way for the Summit, November 12-15 at the Aliante Casino & Hotel in North Las Vegas.
Inc. president Bob LaPointe, a biker himself, notes, "Inc. continues to offer new ways to build communities, in this case business owners who share the common bond of riding. Responses to rides at national Inc. conferences have been extraordinary and have inspired a new and powerful way to build lasting connections between entrepreneurs and business executives. We will expand this kind of experience and take it 'full throttle' at the Riders' Summit, and we plan to launch additional community-building events combining entrepreneurial and personal passions."
Summit co-host and navigator Dwain DeVille, the author of The Biker's Guide to Business, notes, "Businesses spend millions each year on traditional team building and sales networking for employees. This is something very different-think of it as team building for CEOs and networking on steroids."
The Riders' Summit is an all-inclusive event. Each day will have three to five hours of riding. EagleRider, the largest motorcycle rental and tour company worldwide, has partnered with Inc. to provide the tours and motorcycles.
