INBA organized a Symposium at 3: 00 pm to 6:00 pm, August 13th August, 2014, Royal Plaza, Ashoka Marg, New Delhi comprising of dignitaries from Maryland, USA and India, which shall include the First Lady of the State of Maryland, Hon. Chief Judge of the High Court of Maryland and the Supreme Court of India as well as the U.S., senior bureaucrats and other dignitaries from the two countries.
- (1888PressRelease) August 20, 2014 - This Symposium was the first event of a series of dialogues being initiated as a part of an ongoing initiative seeking to strengthen the legal industry, judicial, legislative and regulatory relations between the U.S. and India by facilitating an in-depth scrutiny of the existing policies, treaties and issues as are existing between the two countries with the ultimate objective of simplifying the understanding of the two system and to make the same more cohesive, better informed, more transparent and participatory.
The 13th August Symposium was focused on the understanding the respective court operations and justice administration system as are prevailing in India and the US.
The Symposium facilitated a discussion on:
• The judicial systems of the two Countries
• Indo - U.S. trade and investment relations and the role of Judiciary and lawmakers, legal industry.
Panellists includes Hon. Catherine C. O'Malley, First Lady of Maryland and Judge of District Court of Maryland, Hon. Mary Ellen Barbera, Chief Judge, Maryland State Supreme Court, Hon. Gary E. Bair, Judge, Maryland Sixth Judicial, Ms. Pamela Quirk Harris, State Court Administrator, Dr. Rajan Natarajan, Deputy Secretary of State, Maryland State, USA, Hon'ble Justice Mr. G S Sistani, Mr. P K Malhotra, Secretary legal affairs, Mr. Sanjay Jain, Additional Solicitor General of India.
