Inaugural Wilmington Fashion Weekend Kicks Off April 3
Wilmington Fashion Weekend features four fashion shows, a trunk show, a block party at Lumina Station, and highlights the up-an-coming talents of emerging designers. This event, held at the Wilmington Convention Center, celebrates the local creative community in Wilmington, NC. WFW2014 also coincides with Love Local, a small business event that offers exclusive discounts at area shops.
- Wilmington, NC (1888PressRelease) March 19, 2014 - Wilmington Fashion Weekend, April 3-6, 2014, showcases southeastern boutiques, brands, and emerging designers in four fashion shows, the WFW Trunk Show, and sales and celebrations at local small businesses. All fashion shows will be held at the Wilmington Convention Center, 515 Nutt St., Wilmington. On Saturday, April 5, satellite events will be held across Wilmington; Lumina Station is hosting a block party with celebrity guests, promotions, and more. The RiverRoom in downtown Wilmington will welcome more than 20 designers to showcase their wares during the WFW Trunk Show. Other area boutiques will show their support for #WFW2014 with Love Local, an area event with special discounts and promotions at local small businesses.
"We are inspired by the talents right in our backyard," said WFW founder TJ Dunn. "We want people to know they don't have to go to New York or Milan to be recognized as a fashion talent. They can do it right here!"
WFW celebrates and encourages up-and-coming creative talents. Beyond the emerging designers who will be showcased, WFW is also highlighting the talents of young designers at DREAMS Center for the Arts, a nonprofit that provides free arts education to economically disadvantaged young people. A portion of all #WFW2014 ticket sales will go to DREAMS, and young DREAMS artisans will be selling their designs during the WFW Trunk Show.
