- Chicago, IL (1888PressRelease) November 20, 2010 - In the past 10 years, the kidney transplant waiting list has almost doubled to over 87,000 people. The number of kidneys available from deceased donors is unable to keep up with the demand. Increasing the number of living kidney donors is the only way to ever shorten or one day end the wait for a kidney transplant.
Lisa Petrilli, a Marketing/Social Media Consultant and kidney transplant recipient, and Lisa Diomede are hosting an inaugural event for Cocktails4Causes. Each month Cocktails4Causes raises will be raising funds for a different charity.
"Living Kidney Donors Network is honored to be the first not-for-profit organization to be honored by Cocktails4Causes. Our vision is to be the leading source of educational and communications training programs to someone interested in pursuing living kidney donation" states Harvey Mysel, founder of the Living Kidney Donors Network and kidney transplant recipient.
This event is free to the public, and event information can be found at http://www.cocktails4causes.eventbrite.com.
