  • (1888PressRelease) November 30, 2010 - London, UK - Global communications agency Imagination has won three British Interactive Media Association (BIMA) Awards in the Content, Property Construction and Engineering, and Blogging categories.

Imagination's Red Campus project won the Content category, for its permanent installation at La Galleria, the Ferrari Museum in Marinello, with multi-sensory content celebrating the Shell technical partnership with Ferrari.

To ensure Red Campus could plug into the Italian school curriculum while ensuring universal appeal for tourists and business visitors, Imagination worked with educational consultants to devise a fun and innovative suite of content, delivered across a range of digital media platforms including Augmented Reality interactive touch screens and digi-tickers.

Three Red Campus workshops were created to teach visitors the engineering principles of F1, including three large desks and touch screens, with space for 25 children/users at a time, with Shell branding and messaging included throughout the content and facility.

La Galleria museum receives 200,000 visitors a year, including 1,500 school visitors per month and 1,100 guests of Shell events annually.

Imagination's Shell team also won the Property, Construction and Engineering category for its PEARL GTL project, an innovative Augmented Reality solution used to communicate the engineering excellence of Shell's Pearl Qatar Gas to Liquids plant at B2B and recruitment shows.

Imagination created a detailed scale model of the plant that used engaging Augmented Reality animations and film content. Users interacted with the model by turning a symbol mounted on a plinth.

The success of Imagination's AR model has led Shell to continue to use the platform with different content across its global events programme.

Imagination digital strategist Paul McCrudden took out the Blogging category for his personal #sixweeks project - a pioneering piece of thinking, exploring how consumers can challenge companies in new ways using online and social media tools.

Fed up with queuing and interested in measuring his time and money spent interacting with brands, McCrudden conducted a consumer experiment, challenging companies to pay him for the time he spent with them. The project also won a Guardian Mega Innovation Award 2010.

"Imagination has again been recognised for its leadership in creating new engaging channels of communication, articulating our client's stories and delivering them significant and dramatic business returns," Douglas Broadley, Imagination CEO and Global Creative Director, said.

"Imagination relentlessly immerses itself in understanding people's behaviour to imagine how to deliver transformational experiences for brands - we're thrilled our work has been recognised by winning at this year's BIMA Awards."
The BIMA Awards, judged by sixty of the leading digital practitioners, showcases and rewards great digital work, celebrates excellence and inspires and supports talent. The 2010 winners were announced at an awards dinner on November 25.
