"If you had asked me a year ago I would have told you completely straight faced that I had it all. I would have looked at you and lied through my teeth to you about how happy and fulfilled I was with my whole existence, which would indeed have been me perpetuating huge fallacy. I do have everything but for me, for better or worse just was not, nor would it ever be enough and the fall out came in January of this year.
A chat with a close friend saw me spend a weekend away really analysing what I wanted. I wanted freedom, adventure and sex, but I still wanted to be married. I wanted to have fun but I didn’t want to hurt my family. She suggested an affair with another attached person. Immoral? Possibly, but when someone has as much to lose as you, the risks of falling in love and tearing apart two families are lessened massively and to me it was vital that my secrets got kept.
