IIRSM Approve Evacusafe's Evacuation Chair Training
Evacusafe celebrate the approval of the IIRSM for their training courses, another World first for the Company.
- (1888PressRelease) September 13, 2013 - Evacusafe's training courses have today received further professional approval, this time from The International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM). The IIRSM is based in UK and was established in 1975 as a professional body for health and safety practitioners. In addition to the training Evacusafe have also been awarded training centre and individual trainer accreditation.
If you look at their website it is clear that the IIRSM's main objective is "to advance public education in accident prevention and occupational health in industry".
Therefore when they thoroughly assess the quality of health & safety training, the IIRSM looks carefully at the standard of each area of a course to ensure that it meets strict standards, in order to provide the best possible training materials for the trainee.
Earlier this year we saw Evacusafe's courses gain the approval of The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA). Evacusafe's Evacuation Chair Training Courses consist of a short theory session covering key areas such as risk assessment and legislation along with practical use of the chair. Each trainee will benefit from having:
• A basic understanding of fire regulations affecting mobility-impaired people
• A better understanding of access and egress issues affecting those with a mobility impairment
• An understanding of who may need the equipment and reasons to evacuate a building
• An understanding of the manual handling and correct use of an evacuation chair
When a course is taken online the trainee is provided with video and training materials to cover the same areas as the practical onsite course, but they are able to take the training at a place and time that is most convenient to them. All successful candidates receive a certificate fully endorsed by IIRSM.
