IICG, World Help and the Catholic Medical Mission Board Partner to Aid Benin Republic
Integrity International Consulting Group (IICG), through World Help and the Catholic Medical Mission Board, has provided $2.8 million in emergency aid to support The Republic of Benin during their recovery period from the disastrous flood which left half the country under water. The donation came in response to appeals by the government and faith leader's request for assistance.
- (1888PressRelease) March 01, 2011 - Baltimore, MD - Dr. Cheryl Hill, President of IICG and Mr. Cliff Feldman (World Help) combined efforts to assist Benin in disaster relief. Dr. Hill stated "as IICG is working with Benin's grassroots and faith leaders to plan strategies for developing faith based initiatives it was imperative to assist the need at hand. Disasters cannot wait on a plan to develop so we decided to jump right in and develop later".
The contribution from World Help and the Catholic Medical Missions Board provided medical supplies and hygiene products. Months after the flooding disaster Cliff Feldman said "the toughest challenges still lie ahead - including the complex issues of where to re-establish housing and how to quickly restore livelihoods is the priority in any disaster plan after the immediate relief phase is over."
Dr. Hill urged the continued support of the international community donors to assist Benin in their recovery efforts. "
Thanks to the generosity from our collaborative partners essential supplies were provided to thousands of flood victims across Benin's region.
