ihomebutler goes mobile with the launch of its iOS app, available in the iTunes App Store
For 99 cents, the iOS app enables homeowners to record their valuables for insurance purposes, access appliance manuals, and receive suggested home maintenance service reminders.
- San Diego, CA (1888PressRelease) May 22, 2013 - ihomebutler (www.ihomebutler.com), the home maintenance notification service that interactively assists homeowners with managing the upkeep for their property, announced the nationwide launch of its iOS mobile app, available in the iTunes App Store. With the ihomebutler mobile app, users can record their valuables for insurance purposes, access appliance manuals, and receive customized home maintenance reminders on a quarterly basis.
Once users create an account on the ihomebutler app or website, they are able to input their residential property's information into the system from the mobile app. The ihomebutler app will then send automated quarterly notifications to suggest maintenance checks or the need for professional service.
A new function, available exclusively on the app, allows users to take photos, videos and notes of valuable assets and maintain a record for insurance purposes. Once the valuables are saved on the account, the system will automatically transmit the information to the ihomebutler servers, allowing for access both online and via the app.
"With the ihomebutler iOS application, we have incorporated the great features used on the website, while highlighting the two new elements: accessing appliance manuals and recording valuables," said Bruce Ives, CEO of ihomebutler. "We want to address two large issues we've found in homes: locating old manuals and figuring out which manual goes to which appliance number. Another high cost home problem that can be prevented is not documenting valuables, in case of an emergency. The new features, available in the app, are another way ihomebutler is working with homeowners to alleviate these common issues."
All communication between the app and the server is accomplished using web protocols. HTTPS is the preferred protocol for security purposes. In the future, ihomebutler looks to expand the mobile app to serve the needs of industry professionals.
The ihomebutler iOS app is available for purchase at the Apple App Store for 99 cents, as of May 20, 2013.
