IEX appoints S.N. Goel as its new Chief Executive Officer
Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. S.N. Goel as its new Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director.
- (1888PressRelease) January 22, 2014 - New Delhi - With a vast experience of 36 years in the power sector, Mr. Goel has been actively involved in the formulation and implementation of power sector reform initiatives of the Government of India as well as the development of the power market.
"Mr. Goel's transition from being a Non-Executive Director to its Chief Executive could not have come at a better time. His vast domain experience in different verticals of the power industry will indeed enable power market rise to new heights", said Mr. Venkat Chary, Non-Executive Independent Chairman at IEX.
Prior to joining IEX, Mr. Goel served as Director (Marketing & Operations) at PTC Limited. Before his stint at PTC, Mr. Goel worked as Executive Director with NTPC Limited where he worked in different areas of power plant such as: design and engineering, project execution, operation and maintenance, commercial, business development and coal and gas sourcing.
His key responsibilities at NTPC included: sourcing domestic and imported coal and gas and marketing of the entire NTPC power generation capacity of 35,000 MW, interaction with CERC for tariff fixation and ensuring 100% realization of dues from customers. By qualification, Mr. Goel is an Electrical Engineer with MBA in Finance.
